fforestcamp back to simple
Staying at fforest is an experience more like
staying in a hotel than a tent,
a hotel with woodland
corridors and canvas rooms.
No TV, no mini bar, no trouser press:
Sleeping, living and eating under canvas.
With beauty, birdsong and cold-at-night
with lots of fun stuff.
Our aim when conceiving the camp at fforest was to create a place to enjoy the
simplicity, pleasures and beauty of living under canvas in an outstanding natural
environment.
We thought that for most people, maybe there were bits that weren’t
so much fun, like
preparing breakfast on camping gaz in the rain first
thing in the morning, like your head
sliding off inflatable pillows, like
wrestling with (and losing) collapsible bits ‘n’ bobs, like
cold damp and
slippery groundsheets, like mud.
At fforest you don’t have to deal with that stuff. We take away the
hassle of preparation,
setup, and cooking by providing everything you
will need to enjoy the best of the
outdoor experience.
Tents are sited on elevated timber decks, each landscaped individually
on field margins
against woodland boundaries, creating integration
with the environment, enhanced
privacy for users and undisturbed
views of the landscape and wildlife. The spacious decks
incorporate
fully equipped (and covered) camp kitchen, dining and seating areas.
At the centre of the camp, fforest lodge serves breakfasts of local
produce each morning
and communal barbeques or dinner from local
produce two evenings each week. The
lodge lounge is available in the
afternoon for guests to relax or chat with a (fair trade)
coffee, read a
book from our library, or dry off in front of the wood burner.
(Sometimes the rain gets you, sometimes you go and get wet…)
