fforest camp location

fforest is just off the A478 at Pen y Bryn, 2 miles south of Cardigan in West Wales. The rolling 200 acres of woodland, grazed pasture and wild meadow which makes up fforest farm are bounded to the east by the longest river in Wales, the Afon (river) Teifi, and by the Teifi Marshes nature reserve to the west. All over the site you will find different views across the Preseli mountains, ancient woodland, water meadow and traditional farmland.

fforest is just north of the ancient village of Cilgerran, with its Norman castle, history of slate quarrying and annual coracle races - a tradition still very much alive. The 200 acres of fforest, the 300 plus acres of the nature reserve and the majestic Teifi gorge create a wide range of opportunities for wildlife appreciation, walking, cycling and jogging.

Cardigan is located on the Teifi estuary, which straddles the borders between Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. It is surrounded by a variety of beaches from the easily accessible and dog-friendly to the rugged and secluded, and is an ideal location to try out a number of river and sea based activities.

"Steal, if possible, my revered friend, one summer from the cold hurry of business, and come to Wales."
Percy Bysshe Shelley 1792-1822
