on the river 1 2

Yr Afon Teifi—The Teifi River - is the location for all our river based activities at fforest. The Teifi is Wales’ longest and one of the cleanest rivers in the country. Because of this, and its preserved natural habitats for species of otter, salmon and sewin (sea trout), the whole length of the Teifi has been designated a Special Area of Conservation by the EU.

Upstream, the river descends the Cambrian mountains, gathering pace and creating falls around Llandysul, Newcastle Emlyn and Cenarth. This section is home to some serious competition slalom, play and creek kayaking, white water rafting and open canoeing. The Teifi is regularly used for GB Raft Team training and the GB Raft championships were held on the Teifi in 2008 and again in 2009.

White Water Rafting
When the river levels increase, it’s time to blow up the raft and get some white water on falls up to grade 4. 10km of natural paddling on white and gently flowing water taking in the best drops on the Teifi. Working as a team with a trained guide, you’ll negotiate the cauldron, surf the wave in preparation for the steep drop finale of Henllan falls.

Minimum age 10. Available subject to water levels.
Try River Kayaking for all-conditions white water fun.
