Inspired by the Swedish concept of Syjunta - coming together to chat and share craft skills and knowledge, supporting and inspiring each other in a relaxing environment with comforting food.

March and the arrival of spring with new shoots and new growth is the perfect time for nourishment of mind, soul and body. A time to reconnect with nature. A time for women to get together, to learn and share new skills, walking in the woods and along the stunning Welsh coastline, sharing ideas and stories. This is a weekend of unwinding, slowing down the pace and giving time to yourself.

Come alone or with a friend to enjoy the company and comfort of being a part of this small and intimate gathering. A maximum of 20 people in the peaceful surroundings of fforest with tasty and nourishing food.

Over the weekend we will enjoy a bracing walk along the breathtalking coastline, a woodland activity, plus some inspiring crafting yet to be confirmed. We will also provide comfortable spaces for creativity and will encourage everyone to bring their own creative project and share some crafting skills over the weekend. Or use our spaces to simply relax into a comfy chair, listen to the birds and read a book. There is no fixed schedule or end product. The goal is to inspire and help each other and maybe learn something new.

Accommodation is in comfortable shared rooms in either Ty Fforest or our crog lofts or in a private double with en-suite in Ty Fforest.

What you’ll be eating

We take pride in our food. We grow many of our own salads and greens. We are blessed with fantastic local produce on our doorstep. That makes it easy to keep it simple, seasonal, local and delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and will be mostly vegetarian. We will be making hearty soups with local breads for lunch and cooking comforting suppers from seasonal produce.

We encourage those of you who love to bake to bring a cake, biscuits or tray bake to share with tea.

The stay includes 3 nourishing DIY breakfasts of granola, eggs, toast and jams, 2 light lunches and 3 hearty suppers. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies when booking so that we can take these into consideration when planning the menus.

What to Bring

Warm and waterproof clothes and boots as we will be outside enjoying mother nature a lot of the time. Warm snuggly woollies to wrap and cosy up in.

A creative project you are working on or some basic materials to get you started, whether it be your knitting or sewing kit, a sketchbook or a camera.    This is your time. You decide.

Make sure you bring a cake, some biscuits or a tray bake to share with everyone at teatime. We all love tea and cake. Is there ever a time not to drink tea?

Remember to pack a bottle of wine or two if you would like to relax on the sofa with a drink in the evening or have a glass with dinner. We do also have our own little private pub on site with an inglenook fireplace which we might fire up one evening if the group is keen for a change of scenery.

Where you'll be staying

Every aspect of a comfortable stay and a good night’s sleep has been considered at fforest. We’ve given a lot of thought to the furnishings, using ethically sourced materials and local products which blend function with form. The end result is a combination of thousands of tiny decisions.

We’ve tried to think of everything. We hope you agree.

Ty fforest

From the outside, this is a farmhouse a child would draw: stout as a cottage loaf with a flour-white face and proud chimneys. Inside, though, it has all the swish of a Scandi ski lodge, with its pine cladding and patterned Welsh blankets.  The five bedrooms provide cosy comfort, each with their own shower room.

Crog Lofts

The crog lofts combine heritage quality restoration, natural materials and timeless design. Inside you'll find slate floors with underfloor heating, luxurious shower rooms, bespoke furnishings & textiles combined with quality mid-century furniture. Inside is all about comfort, but with the living space spilling out onto the covered terrace you never forget how close you are to the beauty of nature and our rugged Welsh landscape.

fforest farm

fforest farm is set in 200 acres of rural beauty sandwiched between the river Teifi gorge and the Teifi Marshes nature reserve, minutes from the town of Cardigan and from the beautiful beaches and coves of the West Wales coast. Sian will take you on a walk through the deer-inhabited woodland when you arrive.

Hidden in the woods is our cedar barrel sauna (and cold shower for the brave). Just down the path from here is the Bwthyn, our very own little pub and the oldest building on the farm. A beautiful candlelit old stone cottage with inglenook fireplace.
