Ty fforest
Sleeps up to 14 - from £656

Featured in Elle Decoration, Country Living’s ‘Modern Rustic’ & Conde Nast Traveller’. From the outside, this is a farmhouse a child would draw: stout as a cottage loaf with a flour-white face and proud chimneys. Inside it has all the swish of a pine-clad Scandi ski lodge, with a spacious living / dining space and a big-hearted kitchen set around an inglenook you could herd sheep into.

Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms, each with private shower room: 3 doubles / suites, a family room and a narrow ship’s cabin-like bunk room with 4 berths suitable for “no adults allowed” furtive gatherings.

500 acres to roam

Between Fforest Farm and the adjoining wildlife reserve there are 500 acres to explore. Walk the river gorge, through the reed beds down to Cardigan or into Cilgerran for a pint. Enjoy frosty, misty mornings, stunning starry skies at night. Listen to a deer roar, birdsong at dusk and silence.

Simple luxuries

Where do you find your luxury?
Lazing in bed, wrapped in a blanket, woodstove roaring, safe and warm looking out across the landscape with the gentle patter of rain on the skin of your dome? Cooking & eating in the sheltered undercroft, watching the moon rise in the crisp clear air, knowing that you can step inside to the beautifully crafted  comfort and underfloor heating of your crogloft?

Y Bwthyn

Probably the smallest pub in Wales.
We’ll give you a warm welcome in the pub when you arrive between 4-9pm.
All other nights there is an honesty bar. Staff will brief you on arrival.

A place for healing. The spiritual heart of fforest farm and home to our resident ghost.
fforestchief claims it is the second best pub in the world, the first being one he found whilst on a stag night on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic in County Mayo run by a defrocked priest...... he admits this may have been a dream. A former farm worker's cottage built from the quarry behind, rebuilt after years lost in the shrubbery.
We serve the best of local ales, ciders and spirits and wines from further afield.

Comforting, simple, delicious hampers

Our hibernate breaks are self catering, but we'll supply all the elements to help you create your own hibernation. You can pre-order hampers of local breakfast produce and warming curry or casserole to heat up in your kitchen.

The Farmhouse

A cave with comforts.

Restored in 2015/16, the farmhouse has the quality of a cave, with warmth, comfort and intimacy. Massive slate walls quarried 200 years ago from the river gorge, full of memories . The big communal areas remain cave-like; cosy places to gather together, to cook, eat, play and just be. The kitchen is the heart; slate floors, massive open inglenook fireplace, wood-smoking oven. The five bedrooms, all with private shower room, provide stylish comfort.

For up to 14 guests in bunk room, family room and doubles.

Quiet adventures

In 2012 Lonely Planet voted coastal Wales ‘the best region to visit on earth’. That’s a lot to live up to. But there is no doubting that right on our doorstep there are magnificent landscapes. A coast walk, a beach to yourself, the warmth and crackle of a driftwood fire and a golden sunset are all quiet adventures to be enjoyed within easy reach of fforest.

Make the most of the local area around fforest, here are some of our favourite things to do.
