This coming Autumn, we've put together a new weekend for our Glow retreats, ‘Glow Sew’

There is something very special about sewing – threading needles and stitching to mend things with fondness, to make garments with care, or embellish little patches that tell stories about where we've been and become pouches or pockets to hold treasures. After a long summer with the October evenings slowly drawing in, sinking in to the goodness of stitching in the company of great women might seem like a perfect thing to do. Taking time to slow down to connect, feel grounded and nourished for the winter ahead.

Please join us for a weekend of inspiring sewing sessions hosted by Our good fforest friend and very talented maker, Lizzie Everard (as seen on Great British Sewing Bee) and her beautiful gang of experts.

Lizzie will host the weekend which will include a practical project on our machines, mending and making workshops. Lizzie is very passionate with a generous character and is full of adventures. Telling stories about them are all in a day's work.

Here's the plan

Two morning sessions with Lizzie sewing on our machines creating one of her unique garments (a few sewing machines will be available if you don't have one)

Plus two inspiring afternoon sessions of complementary sewing, mending and making (details TBC)

Come and be inspired by one another's ideas, laughter, comfort and kinship. It doesn't matter if you are new to sewing or have lots of experience - these sessions will have something for everyone. We have many comfortable spaces for creativity or to simply relax into a chair, listen to the birds and knit, or read a book. There is no end product, the goal is to leave glowing and refreshed.

Come alone or with a friend to enjoy the company and comfort of being a part of this small gathering in peaceful surroundings with tasty and nourishing food.

*Please note the schedule & activities might be tweaked and change slightly.

*we hope for sun and dreamy sunsets all weekend, but have no control of the weather, so please pack for all weathers

What you’ll be eating

We take pride in our food. We grow many of our own salads and greens. We are blessed with fantastic local produce on our doorstep. That makes it easy to keep it simple, seasonal, local and delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and will be mostly vegetarian. We will be making hearty soups with local breads for lunch and cooking comforting suppers from seasonal produce.

The stay includes 3 nourishing DIY breakfasts of granola, eggs, toast and jams, 2 light lunches and 3 hearty suppers. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies when booking so that we can take these into consideration when planning the menus.

 What to Bring

Warm and waterproof clothes and boots for woodland walks.
Warm snuggly woollies to wrap and cosy up in.
A swimming costume if you want to jump in the sauna.

Remember to pack a bottle of wine or your favourite tipple if you would like to relax on the sofa with a drink in the evening or have a glass with dinner.

 
 

WHERE YOU'LL BE STAYING

Ty Manorafon
This is the main farmhouse with a cosy living room & wood-burning stove. The three double bedrooms provide cosy comfort with our beautiful Welsh blankets & cushions.
There is one private, en-suite double bedroom and three private double bedrooms with use of a shared bathroom.

Cabins
Our cosy cabins are light, warm and comfortable. They are grouped together in their own cluster with mature landscaping and terraces.
In the cabins there are private double bedrooms and shared twin bedrooms ~ all sharing a bathroom.

All bedding & towels are provided.
